How poor we are

One day a father and his rich family took his son to a trip to the country with the firm purpose to show him how poor people can be. They spent a day and a night in the farm of a very poor family. When they got back from their trip the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"

"Very good Dad!" replied his son.

"Did you see how poor people can be?" the father asked.

"Yeah!"

"And what did you learn"

The son answered, "I saw that we have a dog at home, and they have four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden; they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lamps in the garden; they have the stars. Our patio reaches to the front yard, they have a whole horizon."

When the little boy was finishing, his father was speechless. His son added, "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are!"

Our outlook on life depends on the way you look at things. What others may think as riches, others may want. The most important things in life are your friends, family, health, good humor and a positive attitude towards life. If you have these then you have everything!

silent hymn

It’s easy to look at people and make quick judgments about them, their present and their past, but you’d be amazed at the pain and tears a single smile hides. What a person shows to the world is only one tiny facet of the iceberg hidden from sight. And more often then not, it’s lined with cracks and scars that go all the way to the foundation of their soul.

with you

I WANT
I want to stare into your eyes
and never look away;
I want you to hold me in your arms
and tell me it's okay;
I want to kiss with a passion
that only we can share,
And when it all falls down
I want you to be there.

Never...

Never say " i love you " if you really don't care.
Never talk about feelings if they aren't really there.
Never hold my hand if you're gonna break my heart.
Never say your going to.. if you don't plan to start.
Never look into my eyes if all you do is lie.
Never say hi if you really mean goodbye.
If you really mean forever then say you will try.
Never say forever coz forever makes me cry.

let it be

We don't need to rush things if something's bound to happen it will happen, in the right time with the right person and with the best reason. The sand thought me one thing, you cant hold too many things no matter what you do to make them stay and no matter how much they want to stay. The wind will always blow them away, so learn to let go and choose carefully which you want to stay because like sand only those which are in the center of your palm will last.

Words from the world

A group of frogs set off on a long hike, traveling through the woods. Two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up, out of the pit, with all their might.

The other frogs kept shouting at them to stop, repeating that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs lost heart and gave into fear. He believed what the other frogs were saying and gave up.

He fell down and died.

The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out!

When he got out, the other frogs said, “Did you not hear us?”

The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.

Lessons For the Giver of Words:

- There is power of life and death in the tongue. An encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day.
- A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes to kill them.

Lessons For the Receiver of Words:

- Be careful what you choose to believe.
- Be mindful of who you choose to follow.

Whether you hear as well as Superman or as poorly as Beethoven, take heed to what serves you and your purpose.  Hear that.  Tune out all the rest.

I am me

There comes a time when you have to stand up and shout: This is me damn it! I look the way I look, think the way I think, feel the way I feel, love the way I love! I am a whole complex package. Take me... or leave me. Accept me - or walk away! Do not try to make me feel like less of a person, just because I don't fit your idea of who I should be and don't try to change me to fit your mold. If I need to change, I alone will make that decision. When you are strong enough to love yourself 100%, good and bad - you will be amazed at the opportunities that life presents you..

I Miss My Mom

I Miss My Mom (Emotional Story, you might cry)

Hello Operator, does Heaven have a phone number?
Mommy went to Heaven, but I need her here today,
My tummy hurts and I fell down, I need her right away...
Operator can you tell me how to find her in this book.
Is heaven in the yellow part, I don't know where to look.
I think my Daddy needs her too, at night I hear him cry.
I hear him call her name sometimes, but I really don't know why.
Maybe if I call her, she will hurry home to me.
Is Heaven very far away, is it across the sea?
She's been gone a long, long time she needs to come home now!
I really need to reach her, but I simply don't know how.
Help me find the number please, is it listed under "Heaven"?
I can't read these big big words, I am only seven.
I'm sorry operator, I didn't mean to make you cry,
Is your tummy hurting too, or is there something in your eye?
If I call my church maybe they will know,
Mommy said when we need help that's where we should go.
I found the number to my church tacked up on the wall.
Thank you operator, I'll give them a call...

Your Life ...Your Rules

“This life is what you make it. Not matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends - they'll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything - they're your true best friends. Don't let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they'll come and go too. And baby, I hate to say it, most of them - actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give up because if you give up, you'll never find your soul mate. You'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about.”

I am a woman

The Beauty Of A Woman

The beauty of a woman

isn't in the clothes she wears,
The figure that she carries,
or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman

must be seen from in her eyes;
Because that's the doorway to her heart,
the place where love resides.

The beauty of a woman

isn't in a facial mole;
But true beauty in a woman,
is reflected by her soul.

It's the caring that she cares to give,

the passion that she shows;
And the beauty of a woman
with passing years only grows.

Failure

" The word failure is one of life's biggest lies. Any time you exert yourself in honest effort you have succeeded and failure flees from you. Effort and failure cannot coexist in this life. An effort made is a victory won. If you have made the effort, either you have won the victory and earn the prize or you have armed yourself with the additional experience, wisdom and self esteem to try anew. Failure only exists in the heart of someone who has not seen fit to continue the battle. "

Your Life

It's time to take your life back from the people that are causing you pain and making you unhappy. Remember, this is your LIFE and you are the author of your story. If you're stuck on the same page, just remember that at any moment, you have the power to a write new chapter.

Live by Choice, not by Chance. Make Changes, not Excuses. Be Motivated, not Manipulated. Work to Excel, not Compete. Choose to Listen to your Inner Voice, not the Jumbled opinions of Everyone else.

Kindness

“Kindness is a natural part of human relationships for those who understand the interdependent nature of humanity. Unkind people truly lack a personal integrity and an honest inventory of their own personal weakness. Once the realization is made as to the truth about our own weaknesses, criticism and condescending behavior no longer find a place in us. Our natural true aim and purpose in life is then easily found in the service of others and the humility of self."

In this world full of dream chasers, go getters, motivators, and those who live to inspire, there is something special about a friend who continues to reach out making great efforts to keep in touch. In life we have to realize that there are people who really care, and in an effort to avoid pushing them away we should always try to be receptive to their kindness.

Count your Blessings

" Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play and you will finally be able to move forward the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage and confidence. "

Excuses

" The time for rationalizing your destiny away with excuses and self-imposed limitations has come to an end. You are either in or out. Either you hunger with an enormous vision or you don't. No more excuses! No more rationalizing away greatness! No more hiding in the shadows. Excuses and apathy must die! "

Meditation

Meditation is beyond knowledge. You can be it but you can not know it. A meditation comes to know such a vast experience of joy that all other pleasures simply fade away.
You can meditate anywhere because meditation has no barriers, no conditions. If Meditation makes you withdraw from life, it is not meditation.  Meditation makes you aware of the immense bliss-fullness that is your very nature. The greatest miracle in the world is that YOU ARE, that I AM. To be is the greatest miracle and meditation opens the doors of this great miracle.

Greatest Strength

Life is tough, that’s a given. When you stand up, you’re gonna be shoved back down. When you’re down, you’re gonna be stepped on. My advice to you doesn’t come with a lot of bells and whistles. It’s no secret: you’ll fall down, you stumble, you get pushed, you land square on your face. And every time that happens, you get back on your feet. You get up just as fast as you can, no matter how many times you need to do it. Remember this: success has been and continues to be defined as getting up one more time than you’ve been knocked down. If experience has taught me anything, it’s that nothing is free and living ain’t easy. Life is hard, real hard, incredibly hard. You fail more often than you win, nobody is handing you anything. It’s up to you to puff up your chest, stretch your neck and overcome all that is difficult – the nasty, the mean, the unfair. If you want more than what you have now, prove it! If you want to beat the very best out there that is, get out there and earn it! Once you decide that, you’ll know where it is you want to be. Then you won’t stop pushing forward until you get there! That’s how winners are made. At the end of the day, success is what we all want. We all want to win, and the race will be won. There is no question about that. So c’mon, get out on top, run faster, dream bigger, live better than you ever have before. This is in you. You can do this. Do it for yourself. Prove it to yourself!

I was raised....

“I was raised, I didn't just grow up. I was taught to speak when i enter a room, say please and thank you, to have respect for my elders, to get up off my lazy butt and let the elder in the room have my chair, say yes sir and no sir, lend a helping hand to those in need, hold the door for the person behind me, say excuse me when it's needed, and to love people for who they are, not for what I can get from them! I was also taught to treat people the way I want to be treated.”

If you were raised this way too, re-post this. Sadly, many won't because they weren't and it shows...

Growth

" Life is but a seed in God's garden.  Our minds, souls and bodies have been planted in this fertile place called earth.  Will you nurture your gifts?  Will your life produce fruit for all to eat and enjoy?  Will you be a great plant or a noxious weed?  You have the decision to make.  Grow everyday.  Even the great trees of the earth started out as a small seeds. Know who you are then add patience, faith, knowledge and effort.... and you will become great. "

Change

" I have come from a place in which I no longer wish to reside. I can sense and see the person I could be. I have tasted the virtues of change, growth and service. I am no longer satisfied with just a taste or a morsel.  I seek a full and everlasting life of joy."  -- And we must accept the fact that - all changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.

Leadership

Leadership

Those that would join me in this joyous place are many. However, few are able or courageous enough to make this journey alone. If one person would stand up and take the first steps others would see that their own fears are not justified, and they too would take up this life. Excuses would no longer exist, obstacles would no longer be conquered, and walls would be torn down. Rely on your own strength of body and soul. Take for your star self-reliance, faith, honesty and industry. Don't take too much advice — keep at the helm and steer your own ship, and remember that the great art of commanding is to take a fair share of the work. Fire above the mark you intend to hit. Energy, invincible determination with the right motive, are the levers that move the world.

Inner Beauty

You can’t give away what you don’t have, but you can change your life by changing what’s going on inside. Low energy attracts low energy. Low energy thoughts such as anger, hate, shame, guilt, and fear, weaken you. And they attract more of the same. By changing your inner thoughts to the higher frequencies of love, harmony, kindness, peace, and joy, you’ll attract more of the same and you’ll have those higher energies to give away.... Your inner beauty is what matters most.

Attitude

Attitude

You cannot have the correct attitude and linger in failure and mediocrity. A powerful and positive attitude has more potency than any other quality you can possess. A great attitude causes you to rise above your limiting beliefs ensuring determined and consistent efforts. Attitude, whether good or bad, always foster similar offspring. What does does it take to change an attitude? Change a belief and your attitude will immediately follow.

pieces of life

The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Do not grasp at the stars, but do life’s plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.
Life is short. As the quotes says "Break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile. Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did." So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.....Enjoy!

Two Choices

What would you do if you have to make choices.? Don't look for a punch line, there isn't one. I don't know where this story originated but it sure does captured my heart and my tears went rolling down after reading this, so i must say "Read it anyway". A good story that is really worth sharing. My question is: Would you have made the same choice as i did?

At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves children with learning disabilities, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question:

'When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does, is done with perfection.

Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do.

Where is the natural order of things in my son?'

The audience was stilled by the query..

The father continued. 'I believe that when a child like Shay, who was mentally and physically disabled comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes in the way other people treat that child.'

Then he told the following story:

Shay and I had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked, 'Do you think they'll let me play?' I knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but as a father I also understood that if my son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps.

I approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not expecting much) if Shay could play. The boy looked around for guidance and said, 'We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning....’

Shay struggled over to the team's bench and, with a broad smile, put on a team shirt. I watched with a small tear in my eye and warmth in my heart. The boys saw my joy at my son being accepted.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but was still behind by three.

In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as I waved to him from the stands.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again.

Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat.

At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game?

Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.

However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact...

The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed.

The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay.

As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.

The game would now be over.

The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman.

Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.

Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out of reach of all team mates.

Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, 'Shay, run to first!

Run to first!'

Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base.

He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled.

Everyone yelled, 'Run to  second, run to second!'

Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base.

By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball.  the smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team.

He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions so he, too, intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third-baseman's head.

Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home.

All were screaming, 'Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay'

Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, 'Run to third!

Shay, run to third!'

As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, 'Shay, run home! Run home!'

Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team

'That day', said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, 'the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world'.

Shay didn't make it to another summer. He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making me so happy, and coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day!

AND NOW A LITTLE FOOT NOTE TO THIS STORY:

We all send thousands of jokes through FB without a second thought, but when it comes to sending messages about life choices, people hesitate.
The crude, vulgar, and often obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion about decency is too often suppressed in our schools and workplaces.

If you're thinking about SHARING OR TAGGING this message, chances are that you're probably sorting out the people in your address book who aren't the 'appropriate' ones to receive this type of message Well, the person who sent you this believes that we all can make a difference.

We all have thousands of opportunities every single day to help realize the 'natural order of things.'

So many seemingly trivial interactions between two people present us with a choice:

Do we pass along a little spark of love and humanity or do we pass up those opportunities and leave the world a little bit colder in the process?

A wise man once said every society is judged by how it treats it's least fortunate amongst them.

You now have two choices:

1. Ignore

2. Forward

May your day, be a Shay Day.

Carry On

Sacrifice is a part of life. It’s supposed to be. It’s not something to regret. It’s something to aspire to... And when i can't hold the feelings, the hurt and the anger thats killing me inside, I give myself a good cry, I need it, we do need it sometimes to let go of all the grudges thats holding us back, then what i do next is to concentrate on all the good things that's still in my life.”

shadow of the past

And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end… because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was, when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you, that meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. And always remember this, there is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness but of power. They are messengers of overwhelming grief and of unspeakable love. And whatever life has to offer, you should grow, inspire and move forward... Look at every angle co'z life has a lot of amazing things to give in it's own time and its own simple ways... stay strong.

overview

Sometimes in our lives we tend to chase the best things – best dress, best jobs and even want to associate ourselves with the best people to the point that our quest stops us from being with the right people. People who truly care for us, who would truly stay when we need them the most.

Today, stop and ponder about what’s happening in your life. Stop trying to outrun everyone in the rat race. Focus on the most essential things in life. It’s not always the glittering ones. Focus on the things that matters the most. Most of the time these are the ones that have always been there. Perhaps a friend in high school. A teach in kindergarten who has always inspired and lifted you up when you’re down. Give them a chance to catch up on you.

And maybe with quest and trying to chase the balloon, we’ve forgotten that an ice cream has been melting in our hands. May you stop today and be thankful for the little things that you have – these are the little things that makes life more meaningful.

Be Happy

Live to the fullest, and make each day count. Don’t let the important things go unsaid. Have simple pleasures in this complex world. Be a joyous spirit and a sensitive soul. Take those long walks that would love to be taken. Explore those sunlit paths that would love to oblige. Don’t just have minutes in the day; have moments in time. Make every day special. Own it. Enjoy it. Bask in the glory of life. Appreciate the gift of your own life.
